i know from the amapola flower, but every country prohibits the grow of these flowers, where are the poppy seeds in my muffin coming from??
Where does poppy seeds come from?
I could be wrong, but aren't they from a different species/strain of plant than the poppy that produces opium?
Reply:Turkey grows tons and tons of them. Poppy seed pastry is absolutely wonderful. Get it at a Russian or Armenian Bakery.

EDIT: Do not eat poppy seed for at least two weeks before taking a drug test for a job. You will difinitely flunk.

Reply:...poppy seeds... u do realise that u can grow the flowers yourself... well at-least u can in Australia... the flower... or as we call it over here... the poppy is our symbol for remembrance day... thats a day that we remember those who fell fighting for other countries...
