I have tried to grow it from seed and many greenhouse grown plants. It all just seems to die within a few days to a month.
How do i grow clown flower, otherwise known as Torenia ( the upright veriety . I am zone 5 I think.?
This plant should be treated as an annual in your zone. Grow in good well drain soil in a sheltered part shady area as this plant is native to the woodlands of Africa and Asia.Encourage bushy growth by pinching out shoots on young plants.

Living in zone 5 our summers are hot and humid.The humidity is stressful on plants. I'd like you to try something.When transplanting any plant use a root booster to prevent transplant shock. I believe your results will be much more satisfying. Report It

if you mean protect them from frost just add cedar mulch.
they maybe getting a diease. try buying a plant and see if it survives. or you could be over watering it.
