If I rake up ground cover to lay wildflower seeds, will the ground cover grow back?

The ground cover consists of clovers, vines, some purple looking flowers, baby's breath. I do want it to grow back to fill in with the flowers. But I do have to rake it up to lay the seeds right? Or can I just lay the seeds over the ground cover and shake the cover so the seeds fall under? Will that work or do I need to still rake up the cover?

you should clear small areas of the groundcover by cutting it back and digging up the roots - try maybe 3- 4" round in various spots and plant your seeds there , thats done simply with a garden shovel and fliping the ground and removing roots, then just throw down the wildflower seeds lightly in all the other places and shake the cover to let the seeds find the ground, most wildflowers grow deep and strong roots and will find a spot to root into and come up through the groundcover but there are a few (probley about half depending on the type of seeds you have) that would require a spot actually cleared away for them to grow properly...but if you want to keep the groundcover to fill in your best off doing a few small cleared area just to let the seeds get off to a good start. The groundcover you mentioned is all quickly growing and somewhat invasive - so whatever you clear away will quickly regrow to fill in.
