Easiest growing ground cover from seeds?
Sweet Allyssum is technically an annual but the white, generally called Carpet of Snow, reseeds itself prolifically, even in MN. I planted a packet of it 10 or 12 years ago and have more of it than I need every year. It starts blooming in late spring/early summer and is generally still blooming in the first snow. It is covered with flowers, smells great, and chokes out weeds. The other colors are reliable and pretty too but they don't have the vigor of the white and in my experience don't reseed, at least not true to form. For color in with my allyssum I have sown annual candytuft in mixed colors which sparks up the white a bit. Allyssum is as close to sure fire as you can get in gardening. I really recommend it.

Reply:Clover is easy and low maintenance and will have little white flowers. Sheep like it too. Had a large field to one side of the house for a few years and planted it in clover and never had to worry about it.
Reply:one caution about anything in the clover family. It is very invasive. It's best used in open spaces. The seeds are also wind blown so make sure you don't have neighbors that hate clover.
Reply:Try Ruskingtons thyme, you can get seeds from Chiltern Seeds. Camolile is another alternative.
