Will deadheading the seed pods on my columbine plants make them flower again this year, or will i have to wait

the plant was full of buds when i bought it, made flowers and now all i have is dried up pods and no flowers.

Those pods, if left alone, will allow the seeds within to mature and dry and drop out so that next year, at this same time, you will have columbine flowers again.

There is nothing you can do with your existing plants to make them bloom again this year.

If you "dead head" those plants now, they will have no seeds for blooming next year.
Reply:Columbines generally have a long flowering period covering at least three months.The primary factor seems to be high temperatures bringing the season to a close. It's best to dead head anything as soon as possible after the flower is spent.
Reply:when the flower die you should cut them off to allow other to grow, check to see if you can trim it back
