Norht Carolina weeds that fling seeds?

I am unfamiliar with a weed that seems rather prolific in the Charlotte area of North Carolina. What makes this weed so noticeable is when you come in contact with it the weed flings its seeds in all directions. I can’t stand this thing. When you pull them out of the ground you have to be careful as the seeds have landed in my eye.

The leaves spread out across the ground and its flower grows up to about 6 inches.

Can anyone tell be what this plant is?

I'm supposing you don't mean the flower is six inches across, tho, right?.... six inches high above the leaves?.....

jewel weed is one weed I' would welcome, just for it's properties of being a cure for poison ivy!!... plus it's right purdy!!... cousin to impatiens and balsam, it's the native darling in the woods around here!!..

if it's NOT this one, give some more info on it and we'll try again....
