When planting seeds, does germination mean the number of days before they sprout? I have some "blanket flower" seeds, and the package says days to germination are 14-21, but they sprouted in about 5 days... so... is my definition wrong, or are my seeds just weird?
Gardeners- can you help me with days to germination?
Your defination is totally correct..I have alot that sprout before the germination date alloted..but germination depends alot on temperature, humidty etcetera..so if they germinate alot quicker you are fine there..and some may germinate a few days longer ..again depending on temperature humidity etcetera..
Reply:You have it right and you have seeds that germinated early. the days to germination is just an average and sometimes seeds take less time, sometimes they need more time
Reply:You are right on just overachieving seeds!
