Flower Seed Wedding Favors?

Have you done flower seed packets as your wedding favors? Or have you gotten them as a wedding favor? If so what did yours say on them? Any kind of quote? I think its a cute idea, but do people really keep the seeds, and use them?

Flower Seed Wedding Favors?
happy isn't happy shes rude.

flower seeds are one of the few favours that we receive and make use of. we plant the seeds in the garden and enjoy the flowers when they bloom.

we've received many packets of flower seeds; one packet we got were forget-me-nots, one of my favourite flowers. the tag read something along the lines of:

thank you for helping us celebrate our wedding

please plant these in memory of a wonderful day

nothing fancy and the flowers come up year after year!

we've also over the years received hyacinth, tulip, daffodil bulbs, and small cedar and pine seedlings. its a lovely favour, and i have to tell you i generally think favours are a huge waste of money!

happy wedding sweetie
Reply:I think this is a great idea! Here is a quote "Plant these seeds and watch them bloom, just like the love of the bride and groom." I would make sure they are something easy to grow and plant, like zinnias. With those, you can just stir up the dirt a little, then spread out the seeds. I would use them if they were easy to grow, nothing too fussy, though!
Reply:I think it would be nice if the type of seeds you buy need to be planted during the season you get married if not people may forget they even have them. But do what you want who really uses the wedding favors most get used as nick nacks for a while then they get put in the basement or attic and never seen again.
Reply:The last wedding we were at we recieved flower bulbs as wedding favors. The poem was something along the lines of "enjoy watching these flowers grow as our love for one another grows" We didn't know what they were so I just threw it in the ground to see what would come up. This spring we had some beautiful tulips sprout from the ground! It was a nice idea, exciting to see what would come from it.
Reply:Seeds make lovely favors. Whether it'll be used depends on the demographics of your guests. As for quote, I say anything goes especially if it comes from the heart. It could be generic quotes such as "love grows", "our love has blossomed" or a short message from your heart. Make something that is uniquely you. My best friend is getting married in two weeks and she's giving out this favor:

Reply:My girlfriend is an avid gardener and did this. Honestly, it wasn’t very popular, but then most favors aren’t. 9/10 I forget to take mine with me. I ended up with at least a half dozen of my friend’s favors, and I am planting some of the seeds tonight.

I designed the inserts she sent with them and came up with the Phrase “From our Garden to Yours” So the label said

From Our Garden To Yours

Blah, blah, blah
Reply:Happy (above) apparently isn't so happy. I have heard of people giving out flower seeds, or baby plants as favors, however I don't think a majority of people would use them after the wedding. What you could do is have flower seed or bird seed wrapped up and then allow people to throw that when you guys leave the ceremony! Good Luck %26amp; Congrats!
Reply:We got them recently from a cousin's wedding. The wedding was in October, and the packet was of Forget-Me-Nots. We planted them together as a family the next year, and sure remembered the couple when we did so.

I think it's just such a lovely favor!
Reply:I like the idea of the seed packets.. Here is a site that will print whatever you want on the packet at a reasonable cost..

Reply:I think its cute for a spring wedding. I would suggest having something else as well. Put a little love quote or if you guys have a theme quote. Maybe a verse from your wedding invitations, or Name %26amp; Date.
Reply:We are giving seeds as a favor, in terra cotta pots. They are just regular seeds (no quotes or fancy packaging) but my mother decorated the pots beautifully.

A lot of our family loves to garden so we think they will be used.
Reply:I was planning on doing something like this initially, with those plantable favors (the shaped cards with seeds embedded in them).

I'm sure you could include something along the lines of "Thank you for helping our love grow"
Reply:Plantable Heart Flat Card are what I am going to do when I host a bridal shower for my best friend.
Reply:No I've never received "seeds" as a favor... that is so dumb... sorry but it is... and no one really "uses" them... LOL
