And what evergreen plants, or even flowers, should I get for containers?
I am a complete novice at gardening. Have just moved to a house with a little garden that I want to make pretty!
What seeds can I plant this time of year?
I would say pretty well anything. Years ago when I was contracting for Woolworths they sold pelleted seeds and I won the job of clearing away the display. Many packets had ruptured and the seeds were rolling about on the unit. I swept them all up and bagged them, when I got home it was raining so not wanting to get wet, I stood and threw them with a scattering motion all over my rear garden... What a show, Cauliflower and Pansy's, Brussels, and Swedes, Long pointed flowers and short bushy flowers, the garden was a riot of colour plus we had plenty of veg to eat.................. Good luck.
Reply:Well it depends what part of the country you live in. I live in MI, if you live in CA, it wont help when I tell you to plant a mum and it dies of to much sun.
However I would suggest going to www.lowes.com they have a great site that lets you landscape and plan out your garden according to your location.
Reply:you can buy poppie seeds, winter pansies and bulbs are in the shops this time of year i dont think many bulbs/seeds will grow until the spring anyway
Reply:Go along to your local garden centre have a look at the seeds they have on display read the instructions, then decide,or ask some of your new neighbours they may even give advice or plants and friendship!
