Question about the impatien seeds that I recently planted...?

This will probably sound retarded to the average green thumb because I know absolutely nothing about plants, flowers, etc. Anyways, I planted about 4 packages of impatiens 2 weeks ago and followed the exact directions of the package. I understand that it takes quite some time for anything to appear but I've noticed these yellow round tiny balls in the soil...are these the seeds? Or maybe they were in the fertilizer all along and I'm just now noticing them? Thanks for reading and responding ;)

sounds like the slow-release fertilizer pellets in the potting soil. That's ok. I've thought that before, too!
Reply:Yellow balls are slow release fertilizer (osmocote).

Impatiens seeds like to be surface sewn. Light (top) water daily until you see seedllings, decrease water.

You didn't mention location (your zone) or sun they'll receive. Starting seed indoors will give you better results.

The imps I've started from seed sprouted within a week. You can root stem cuttings in water.
Reply:That's why they are called impatients... They take forever and you become impatient! If you are seeing the yellow balls where you planeted the seeds.. then it's probally the plant. If you pick up a ball and squeeze it and liquid comes out then you know it was part of the soil.
Reply:not seeing a picture.. some times plants come up in balls and then uncurl... keep on watering them and you should see some results in a week.
